In 1999 Mark won his first award at the RADs. Since then he’s gone on to be co-founder of tonic, a brand communications agency who’s core purpose is to create wonderful work, that works. 7 years as the Chief Creative Officer he’s worked nationally and internationally with brands across a variety of sectors, from professional services, retail, armed forces, charities, law, pharma, construction, travel and banking. He’s developed employer brands and EVP frameworks, he’s created experiences, films and devised attraction campaigns that have changed minds and influenced reputations. He’s helped tonic win 64 awards, 7 of those being work of the year.
Mark is hugely proud of our sector and the exciting work it creates. He is absolutely delighted to be chair of judges for the RADs on its 30th birthday.
The family business was restaurants, and as a kid I remember munching on poppadoms and binging on After Eights, but obviously without dad seeing me eat the profits. I learnt business values from an early age. The kitchen was the creative, ‘fresh is best’ and strategy was front of house to make customers explore the menu. A lamb bhuna was revolutionary in the 80s. It’s incredible how much of those business values have stayed with me at Pink Squid. Okay, we might not have a team of chefs, sous chefs, maître ds, barmen etc, but we do have something in common: a team of experts who have pride in everything they do and that for me is priceless.

Lizzie has worked in employer reputation and employee engagement for 15 years, both in-house and in agencies. Before joining Hodes in 2016, Lizzie ran the employee engagement practice for Ogilvy in EMEA, launching brands to employees and creating employer brands alongside internal engagement campaigns. Her clients have included Shell, HSBC, Siemens, Merck, Mars, Airbus and Unilever. Her passion is ensuring that the brand is based on intelligent insight and then reflected in employee behaviour, as she believes people will always trust people rather than brands.
I have been in this industry for over 19 years and during that time have been involved in everything from graduate and experienced hire attraction strategies through to employer brand development and website creation. I’ve had the privilege of working with clients to help them solve their challenges and bring their visions to life. With over a decade of experience in Youth Marketing, Jackie has a deep understanding of the youth market and effectively engaging young people in the careers landscape. After a number of years with a world leading professional body leading their student engagement strategy with schools, colleges and universities in the UK, Jackie joined SMRS as their Youth Marketing Strategist. Working across national and global employers and with a keen interest in diversity and inclusion, Jackie supports a range of clients with their strategic approach to attracting and retaining future talent.
Morven is a senior creative, specialising in copywriting, at Stafford Long & Partners. Working with clients across a broad range of sectors, she’s got a PhD in creative writing and a love for insightful, helpful work. Whether it’s supporting excluded groups to find inclusive employers, or helping young people find their path, she believes we can do a lot of good when we create outstanding work. Morven’s been up to collect RADs with various clients, but this is her first time on the judging panel. She’s very excited about it.

Through the use of integrated digital strategies and tactics and Ph.Creative’s own innovative philosophy and framework, Ph.Creative clients include BT, GVC, LinkedIn, RBS, DAZN, GE and WehKamp, with a growing client base in the USA including Blizzard Entertainment, VF Corp, Continental and Magellan Health.
Alison has almost twenty years’ experience of branding and marketing, on both supplier and employer sides. Working with a design & communications agency for almost 10 years, she directed a huge number of campaigns for graduate employers. In 2005 she joined KPMG to lead the recruitment marketing team, responsible for both graduate and experienced hire marketing, and in 2011 she was appointed Head of UK Student Recruitment. In July 2014 Alison moved to GSK to look after early talent branding and she is now responsible for their Employer Brand globally.

Ben is Blackbridge’s Digital Operations Director and has over twenty years’ experience across client service, digital channels, strategy formulation and communications/technology applications, providing a wealth of experience and insight into all matters digital. During his career he’s worked with a broad range of organisations including the likes of National Grid, ITV, McDonald’s, The Army, Shell, Deutsche Bank, Rolls-Royce and Barclays, helping them deliver effective, often complex digital solutions. He also makes a good cup of tea, if you say please.
Ali is an experienced brand sales specialist with a passion for driving revenues and brand engagement in the client sector. She is an advocate for driving audio as a medium and has been instrumental in establishing Global as a ‘voice for travel’ and ‘voice of beauty’.
Ali has worked in the media industry for 32 years, starting off in TV straight from university and then joining the Commercial radio industry at the beginning of its resurgence in the early 90s.
Ali has set up numerous specialist teams throughout her time in the industry and now is the Director of Client Development for Global, the Media &Entertainment Group. The growing team develops categories and clients across the extensive audio and outdoor products in the Global portfolio.
I was there right at the beginning of the online recruitment marketplace in 1998, I rode the first boom and bust, but always believed in the great potential of the hospitality sector and over the last 20 years I have seen the sector explode. I have played significant roles in launching, leading and scaling multi million pound brands in this space both in the UK and Internationally.
I have been part of Stepstone since inception in 2001 and I am responsible for our UK hospitality brands (Caterer.com & Catererglobal.com), Totaljobs’ Enterprise and international businesses.

Dan recently joined GE Healthcare as their global employer brand leader, to develop a new EVP and enhance their reputation as an employer of choice across global markets. In addition to working on innovative attraction campaigns, he also works in partnership with HR, the business and talent management leadership teams to understand and improve the employee experience and support a high performing culture.
Prior to GE Healthcare, he headed up the employer branding team at Rolls-Royce. During this time he won multiple awards including a recent RAD Award for an innovative, multi-platform campaign called #RaceYourCode to recruit digital talent into the organisation.
Dan started his career in media sales and business development roles at Emap publishing. He then forged a successful career in various recruitment advertising agencies, becoming a Client Partner and working across a wide range of key clients.
He is passionate about people, and a keen drummer, guitarist and traveler (preferably on his Harley Davidson). Dan lives between London and Nice, where his 8-year-old daughter (Nina-Rose) lives.
Fin is the co-founder and CEO of Wiser, an employer branding agency that’s doing things differently, changing the way people think about work and the way businesses think about talent. Founded in 2013 with three friends and a commitment to ignore the ordinary, Fin set out to create a working environment that practised what it preached by combining culture and performance to transform employer brands and candidate experiences. Six years, eight offices and almost 100 people later, Wiser now consults, creates and recruits for some of the biggest brands out there, including Just Eat, Fidelity International, Lloyd’s of London, Kraft Heinz, Tesla and Nike.
For 26 of the 30 years the awards have existed, Peter has been an active entrant, supporter, nominee, winner and judge. He’s held Creative leadership positions in some of the industry’s most coveted agencies and worked with clients that span most industry sectors around the globe. He’s spoken at events and written articles on the subject of Employer Value Propositions, Employer Branding and Education Marketing. Since January, Peter has been working with WSA Communications as a member of their Senior Leadership Team, helping to shape, nurture and enhance their creative approach and reputation.
Vanessa is a highly experienced recruitment marketing specialist and graduate recruiter with over 20 years’ experience. Currently she is the Global Graduate Recruitment Director at Barclays. Prior to Barclays Vanessa was Graduate Recruitment Director for nearly 3 years at Police Now where she built their recruitment process and brand and which won over 20 awards in 18 months specifically in events, diversity and for overall campaign. Other roles in her career have been Head of Graduate Recruitment and Recruitment Marketing at KPMG, where she was involved in a number of award winning campaigns. Both at Police Now and KPMG she has delivered end to end recruitment projects, worked on all recruitment marketing campaigns for school, graduate and experienced hire. Having done some different and wacky campaigns in her time from laundrettes, various immersive online games and events on campus with basketball players to people in blue morph suits. Vanessa is really looking forward to seeing what this year’s entries will provide having been a RAD winner and judge in previous years she is keen to see what this year will bring

Flood-fighters, speechwriters, children-delighters. Nurses who literally hold hearts in the palms of their hands. I’ve had the privilege of helping to recruit some amazing people over the past 20 years. Most of them far more important than Creative Directors of advertising agencies. I tried though, honest. I actually wanted to be an astronaut, but NASA rejected me. They don’t accept applications from 8-year-olds, apparently.

Before her role at the LEGO group, Eunice was a freelance consultant for 16 years working across multiple industries for well known FTSE brands such as Kerry Group BP, Vodafone, T-Mobile, RBS, Virgin, Randstaad and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young to name a few and always within the field of Talent.
She has a true warmth and passion for people nurtured from her Italian upbringing and the rooted belief that everyone can be their best and unlock their true potential with some gentle coaching, support and encouragement to be curious to grow and flourish.
Outside of work her family keep her on her toes as well as a keen focus on super healthy living, Triathlons, Running & Pilates, Italian Opera and of course cooking and eating amazing food!
