Software company Quantexa grew from a start-up to a valuation of more than £1bn in just six years, making it a ‘unicorn’ business. But while its culture was strong, communicating this across its 650-strong employee base was difficult, particularly as workers were distributed across the globe. The employer brand team looked at leaver and joiner reviews, Peakon employee engagement insights, leadership interviews and employee feedback. The conclusion was that employees at Quantexa are dynamic and ambitious, and the DISCOVER UNSTOPPABLE employee value proposition was born.
After sifting through data and hours of content, the team came up with an EVP architecture with a manifesto, strong storyline and values that conveyed the company’s people-centric culture. The UNSTOPPABLE concept resonated heavily with Quantexa’s founder as a narrative that reflected its journey so far and where it was heading in the future. Out of the brand concepts came a series of visuals showing ‘what makes you Q’, including a QR code to encourage employees to refer the company to a friend or contact. The team recruited 60 employees to become champions for the new EVP, or Q-Nexans, and they were invited to a soft launch for it at the London Eye.
Q-Nexans were given access to an exclusive portal, housing the EVP playbook and asset toolkit, and were also invited to a series of bootcamps to immerse themselves in the brand. The global launch brought together 650 people across multiple time zones to an interactive virtual conference. The launch was underpinned by a psychometric quiz, ‘what makes you Q?’, helping people to associate themselves with the company’s values of determination, ambition, teamwork and accountability. A brand new careers site incorporated the new EVP and brought the messaging together, while hiring managers could access new assets and collateral to use for their own recruitment drives. Employee loyalty has increased, hundreds participated in the psychometric quiz, and almost three-quarters of employees attended the EVP launch.
