EQRx gets inside employees’ heads to boost engagement and belonging

The follow-up to last year’s Tapestory embeds employees’ sense of feeling valued.

After a successful employee-led ‘Tapestory’ (tapestry) campaign in 2022, pharmaceutical company EQRx wanted to keep building momentum and sustaining engagement with employees. It sought a campaign that would be visually stunning yet completely different from others out there. The company’s mantra is inclusion – not just in access to medicine but in how it values, treats and communicates with employees.

The #BeYou@EQ campaign was designed to bring out the stories inside employees’ heads in a beautiful and unique way. Ph Creative worked with employees to come up with unique animations using their voices. Each film took two months from concept to completion, putting employees at the centre. They start with a live action element and move into the animation world of the story inside that employee’s head.
The films launched at the company’s annual all-employee gathering, with a carnival style ‘sideshow head’ that colleagues could walk into and view the films.

New recruits were also included. Before they began at the company they were asked to choose an object and the story behind it. Their ‘story’ artwork becomes part of the Tapestory that hangs in headquarters, and employees are also sent a giclee print in a wooden frame of their design. Employees and potential candidates have been able to connect with each other through their stories and designs, and they feel visible, valued and accepted for who they are at work.
